Handball is a team sport where the goal is to score by throwing a ball into the opponent's net. Two teams of seven players (six field players and one goalkeeper) compete, and the team with the most goals at the end wins.
The game is played on a 40x20 meter indoor court, with goals at both ends guarded by goalkeepers.
Basic Rules:
- The game starts with a throw-off, and players pass or dribble the ball to create scoring opportunities.
- Players can take up to three steps while holding the ball and can dribble any number of times. After three steps, they must shoot or pass.
- Passing and shooting involve various arm and wrist movements. Shooting aims to outwit the goalkeeper.
- Defenders use strategies like man-to-man or zone marking, with physical contact allowed but dangerous play penalized.
- Goalkeepers defend by using any body part to stop shots.
- Matches consist of two 30-minute halves. If the score is tied, extra time or a penalty shootout may occur.
- Penalties and free throws are awarded for fouls, with a penalty involving a one-on-one against the goalkeeper and free throws requiring the defense to stay three meters away.
